Hello! My name is Stephaney Ferguson and this is my 6th year of teaching. I am excited to be serving KCIA as a History/ELL Specialist this year. I graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2018 with a degree in Secondary English Education and I am certified in TESOL. I have since spent my time teaching in all different kinds of ways from 1st grade students in China to middle school in Japan and even AP college courses to Highschool students. However, my favorite experience so far has been teaching all the diverse students here at KCIA. I am currently enrolled in a Graduate program where I am working towards my degree in TESOL. I know my studies will help me be the best teacher I can be. When I am not working, I enjoy running, reading books, drawing, and exploring the diverse food scene in Kansas City with my sister and fiance. I love my hobbies outside of work but I am even more passionate about my job this year. I will be teaching students who are just about to graduate from receiving language services. My goal is to push them out of language services with that sweet-spot ACCESS score of a 4.7 or higher. I am very excited to work with and motivate all of our students to be the best they can be and most importantly GROW!
