My name is Katie Killeen and this is my first year as a classroom teacher and at KCIA, though it is not my first time working in education. I am originally from Omaha, Nebraska where I attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and received a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. After graduating I worked for 5 years as a Para Educator in a local High School. It was my work in the Nebraska school system and my students that inspired me to go back to school for my education certificate. I moved to Kansas City after I got married in 2015, and this year I graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a Bachelors of Science in Middle School Education. I am excited to be back in the classroom and to be at KCIA! During my free time I love to cook, dance and listen to Korean pop music. My husband and I are also very active. We like to picnic, rock climb, we play on a league sand volleyball team, and participate in a weekly adult gymnastics class.
