My name is Katie Killeen and this is my third year as a classroom teacher and at KCIA! I am originally from Omaha, Nebraska where I attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and received a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. After graduating I worked for 5 years as a Para Educator in a local High School. It was my work in the Nebraska school system and my students that inspired me to go back to school for my education certificate. I moved to Kansas City after I got married in 2015, and I graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a Bachelors of Science in Middle School Education in 2018. My family grew a little bigger this year as my husband and I welcomed a baby boy named Henry in May of 2020! My husband and I are also very active. We like to picnic, rock climb, we play on a league sand volleyball team, and participate in a weekly adult gymnastics class. During my free time I love to cook, dance, play with my son, and listen to Korean pop music! I am excited to be back in the classroom and to be at KCIA!
