My name is Austin Wetrich and I am the 3rd Grade Newcomer Specialist. I began my journey into education 4 years ago when I joined the team at KCIA as a 3rd grade teacher, and this will be my second year as the 3rd Grade Newcomer Specialist.
I graduated from UMKC with a bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2018, and have since completed my ELL Endorsement through Missouri Western State University. In May I graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). My life outside of school consists of spending plenty of time with family and friends, working in my garden, listening to new music, and exploring Kansas City. I am looking forward to an amazing year!
