Peyton Snowden – Dean of Elementary School Culture

Hi! My name is Peyton Snowden, and this is my 9th year in education. I am originally from Springfield, MO and moved to Kansas City to go to college and decided to stay and start my career here. I attended the University of Missouri Kansas City and received a bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I also have a masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas and in December I will be completing my Ed. Specialist degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Educational Leadership. I have been a classroom teacher from grades PK-2nd in both Raytown and Kansas City Public Schools. For the last two years I served as the elementary behavior specialist here at KCIA and this year I am excited to step into a leadership role as the Dean of Elementary School Culture. I have a passion for helping students build the social and emotional skills they will need to be not only successful in the classroom but also for the rest of their lives. When I am not at KCIA I love to be spending time with my family. I have a husband and two children, Ryleigh (4) and Easton (2). We love to explore around the Kansas City area and find the amazing places to eat ice cream.
