Sarah Mundy – ELA

My name is Sarah Mundy and this is my first year at KCIA. I am a resident teacher with the Kansas City Teacher Residency program, bringing 7 years of experience in education. I earned my B.A. and M.A. in English Literature, both at University of Missouri-Kansas City. My past roles have been Academic Support Specialist at the Kansas City Art Institute and adjunct college instructor for UMKC, Kansas City Kansas Community College, and Maple Woods Community College. I am so excited for my journey into teaching middle school ELA and I feel honored to be here at KCIA! My home is in the historic Northeast Pendleton Heights neighborhood. I am a huge animal lover and my partner Joel and I share own home with two dogs, two cats, and a foster rat. I am enthusiastic about antiques and vintage fashion. In fact, River Market Antiques is my happy place. I love reading with all my heart and my favorite authors are Ntozake Shange, Maggie Nelson, and Stephen King. I feel welcomed in this community and ready for a great year!
