Tierra Jackson – Middle School

My name is Tierra Jackson and this is my 5th year at KCIA serving as one of the middle school Instructional Coaches. I began teaching in 2013 as a 6th grade Math teacher in Kansas City, Missouri. From there I taught 4th-5th grade both self-contained and departmentalized math in Kansas City, Missouri also until 2019. In 2020, I joined the middle school staff as one of the instructional coaches for our teachers. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Youth Studies and a minor in African and African American Studies from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. From there I earned a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri – Saint Louis and a Masters in Educational Administration (K-12) from the University of Kansas. Currently I am enrolled at the University of Kansas as a doctoral student in the Curriculum and Instruction Ed.D. program. I believe that every student at KCIA is capable of doing great things and I want to support them and their teachers so that just that can happen! When I am not at KCIA, I love spending time with my family and watching all the Apple TV shows. I also love sports with my favorites being football and basketball. I am excited for another great year at KCIA!
