My name is Britany Barton and this year I am moving into a new role as the K-8 School Therapist. This is my seventh year with KC International Academy and I have served as a sheltered classroom teacher and an elementary school counselor. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education. I graduated from UMKC again in 2021, earning a Master of Arts degree in Counseling with an emphasis in school counseling. Over the last two years, I have gone through licensing supervision and accumulated enough direct and indirect client counseling hours to earn my full license, and am now a licensed professional counselor. When not at KCIA, I love spending time outdoors with my husband Michael, our daughter Charlotte, and dog Josie. I am looking forward to another fantastic year with our amazing staff, students, and families at KCIA!
