Cross Country

Kansas City International Academy created it’s very first cross country team for the 2019-2020 school year! About 14 seventh and eighth graders (both boys and girls) competed in seven meets this season. Most of the meets were held with schools from the MS Suburban Conferences, and the team traveled as far north as Platte County and Kearny and as far east as Fort Osage.

The team practiced every single day after school to work on team building activities, practice routines, and build endurance and confidence. At the start of the season, the team got to take a trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods to pick out their very own pair of running shoes! School records were also established for the girls and boys team this season.

Coach Jefferson and Coach Weeks enjoyed working with the team all season and watching the team grow as runners and individuals. They cannot wait to coach again next season!
