Abbie Wyatt – K-2

My name is Abbie Wyatt and this is my second year as the K-2 Instructional Coach at Kansas City International Academy. I started my career in education teaching English to students in South Korea while finishing up my degree in Early Childhood General and Special Education with an endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Kansas. I then taught first grade in the Kansas City Kansas Public School District for two years while I was working towards my Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading. After completing my Master’s Program, I became a Reading Specialist in the Blue Valley School District and led my school’s literacy intervention program while coaching teachers in all areas of literacy. Instructional coaching is my passion and I look forward to continuing to learn from our talented staff this year! On a personal note, my favorite thing to do is to try new restaurants in the Kansas City area with friends and family. I also enjoy going to the indoor dog pool with my dog, hiking and backpacking, traveling to Colorado, and going to sporting events. I am most looking forward to leading KCIA’s Girls on the Run program this year!
