My name is Rachel Spotz and I am a 6th grade ELA/ELL teacher at Kansas City International Academy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my Master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) at the University of Central Missouri. I started teaching in 2016 here at KCIA. I have experience teaching both 1st and 4th grade. Prior to teaching at KCIA, I was a pre-school teacher at a Montessori based child center at Cerner as well as La Petite. During my free time, I love spending time with my son, boyfriend, and our crazy amount of animals. I love being outdoors and riding in our side-by-side through different trails around Missouri. I also enjoy crafting, spending time with friends, and going to the gym. This year I look forward to building stronger relationships with my students and helping them grow as scholars.
