My name is Helen Broome and this is my 31st year in education. I have experience teaching Kindergarten – 4th grade. This is my 10th year teaching Kindergarten at KCIA. (Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach!) I taught in the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools for 16 years and also at two Kansas City charter schools. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University. I have a Master’s Degree in Education from Mid America Nazarene University and a Master’s Degree in Language and Literacy from Park University. I am a widowed mom of 3 children, Jessica, Matthew and Zoe. In my free time I enjoy reading, crocheting and watching reality TV! I am so excited about this year at KCIA!
