My name is Tierra Jackson and I am a Middle School Instructional Coach at Kansas City International Academy. I began teaching in 2013 as a 6th grade Math teacher in Kansas City, Missouri. From there I taught 4th-5th grade both self-contained and departmentalized math in Kansas City, Missouri also until 2019. In 2020, I joined the middle school staff as one of the instructional coaches for our teachers. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Youth Studies and a minor in African and African American Studies from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. From there I earned a Masters in K-6 Education from the University of Missouri – Saint Louis and a Masters in Educational Administration (K-12) from the University of Kansas. When not supporting our amazing teachers, I am spending time with my family, reading, sleeping, or playing video games (or trying at least). I am looking forward to this year here at KCIA and excited to see all of our students!
