Megan Jefferson – Elementary ELL Specialist

Hello! My name is Megan Jefferson. I am currently in my 10th year in education. I am thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community here at KCIA! In 2013, I graduated with a Bachelors degree from Rutgers University. I earned my Masters degree in Special Education in 2015 from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and a graduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Missouri Western State University in 2021. I am an alumna of Teach for America, as well as the Green Fellowship: a two-year educational leadership program for Teach for America alumni. I am a 2018 National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, and am passionate about environmental sustainability! Since my first year at KCIA, I have enjoyed coaching our Middle School Cross Country team. I am a long-distance runner with the ultimate dream to run a marathon in every state! When I am not teaching or running, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, traveling, and art.
