Kaylin Griffin – K-2 Reading Interventionist

My name is Kaylin Griffin, and I will be the Reading Specialist at Kansas City International Academy this year. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish and a minor in Communications from the University of Arkansas in 2018. I began my career in education in 2018 teaching third grade in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Throughout my first two years of teaching, I was in a program called Teach for America. Through that program, I earned my certification to teach Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. In 2020, I relocated to Kansas City through an educational leadership program called the Green Fellowship. I also finished my Masters of Science in Reading Education through North West Missouri State in 2023. I love helping students unlock the power of reading, and I am so excited to do that this year through my role! In my free time, my husband, Alex, and I love to go on walks and trying out new coffee shops with our sweet baby boy and two golden doodles. I also love to connect with friends, read, and be creative!
