Katherine Sheetz – Math

Hi there! My name is Katherine (or Kat for short), and this is my 8th year teaching 8th-grade math at KC International Academy. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Math Education in 2018. I earned my Master’s in Literacy and Language with an emphasis on TESOL education from Park University. I am looking forward to hopefully beginning another Master’s in Math Education at the University of Missouri this winter. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, doing yoga, playing kickball, and spending time with friends–many of whom happen to also be my co-workers at KCIA. This summer, my husband Marshall and I eloped in Greece, as I also love to travel whenever possible! I live with him, my dog Hopper, and two cats, Ember and Raksha. I love my job at KCIA, where I work with the best students in Kansas City, and I genuinely believe I was put on this earth to teach math to middle school students. I’m excited for this school year and to see how all my students grow! GO MATH! IT’S THE COOLEST SUBJECT!
