David Leone – Assistant Superintendent and Middle School Principal

My name is David A. Leone. This is my 44th year in public education. This is my third year at KCIA. Before coming to KCIA I spent 9 years as a 6th grade teacher in Blue Springs, Missouri and I spent 4 years as principal of Hillcrest Elementary in Belton, Missouri. Then I spent 27 years in the Center School District where I was an elementary principal, Director of Human Resources, Assistant Superintendent, and my last year I was the Superintendent. I have a beautiful wife named Allyson, five children (Nick, Eric, Brianna, Brian, and Kelly), and 8 grandchildren (Derek, Riley, Quinn, Ethan, Wyatt, Max, Alex, and Benjamin). I have my bachelors from Graceland University, Masters and Ed. Specialist from UMKC, and Ed.D hours from the University of Missouri. When not working I enjoy golfing and spending time with my wife and family. I have a passion for urban education and believe we have the potential to make KCIA one of the premier charter schools in not only the KC area, but also the state of Missouri.
