My name is Courtney Minnich and I am the Elementary Assistant Principal at Kansas City International Academy. I began my career in education in 2010 teaching English to students in Guatemala. I then taught 3rd grade for six years in Liberty, Missouri. In 2017, I came to Kansas City International Academy and spent a year as an ELL Specialist, a year as an Elementary Instructional Coach, and this is now my second year as Assistant Principal. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in K-6 Education from Kansas State University and I am also licensed to teach K-12 English as a Second Language. I earned my Master’s Degree in Administration from Northwest Missouri State in 2014. In 2018, I completed 21 extra credit hours of coursework in English as a Second Language through the University of Central Missouri. Spending time with my family and friends is a big part of my life and I also enjoy reading, cooking, walking my dog, traveling, and exploring Kansas City. I am looking forward to a great year at KCIA!
