Paige Rahman – Elementary ELL Specialist

This is my 26th year teaching. I’m the 5th Grade EL Specialist. I grew up in Kansas City. Central Missouri State is where I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Education. I was a Special Ed Teacher for two years in Richmond, Mo. Then I moved 7000 miles away to the island of Saipan in the Western Pacific, where I taught 4th grade for 7 years. Later, I moved back to Kansas City, where I taught 3rd grade for a year at KCPS, before moving to Della Lamb Charter School where I taught 2-6 ELL students for 9. I’ve been teaching 4/5 grade Multilingual Learners since KCIA began in 2016. I received my ELL certification from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, University of Missouri-Columbia, and Central Missouri State. Park University is where I completed my Master’s Degree in Language and Literacy to get my Reading Specialist certification. I have been married for 20 years. We have a 20 year old son who is a Sophomare at Witchita State University, a 16 year old daughter who goes to North Kansas City High School, and a 5 year old grumpy cat named Finley. I love to sew, make crafts, and travel. This summer we went on a roadtrip to the Pacific Northwest. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect. I’m excited for this new year.
