My name is Kari Reeves and this my fourteenth year in education. I am originally from Pittsburg, KS, but I have been living in the Kansas City area for the past decade. I began my teaching career in New York City’s Chinatown at Dr. Sun Yet Sen Middle School. I then returned to the Midwest where I have taught at several districts including Liberty Public Schools, Shawnee Mission Schools, Derby Public Schools and most recently, University Academy. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas and a Master of Arts Degree in TESOL from Hunter College in New York City. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking and exploring the Kansas City area with my husband, my 9 year old son and our two rambunctious dogs. My family and I are passionate about making the most of our summers spending as much time as possible hiking and camping in Colorado and Wyoming and traveling to destinations unknown. I’m looking forward to working with an amazing group of educators this year at KCIA!
