Hello, I’m Amal Islaweyn. I was born in Somalia, but I’ve had the privilege of calling Pakistan, Dubai, and now Kansas City home. I’ve been a resident of Kansas City since the year 2000, and for the past 15 years, I’ve had the joy of sharing my life with my husband, Ahmed. My professional journey has been both diverse and rewarding. I’ve worn multiple hats throughout my 13-year at KCIA (Kansas City International Academy). I started as an interpreter, bridging language barriers to facilitate communication. Later, I transitioned to the role of Behavioral Interventionist, helping students overcome challenges. Currently, I serve as the Building Administrative Assistant, contributing to the smooth operation of our institution. Beyond my professional life, I find joy in life’s simple pleasures, such as music, watching movies, and traveling. I am excited for this school year.
